The last NHL Awards to take place were in 2012. Thanks to the half-season lockout last season, the NHL Awards ceremony never took place and instead, the awards were announced one-by-one over the course of the Stanley Cup Final. The Awards return to Las Vegas again this year, but it doesn't appear it will feature 2012 host Will Arnett, who portrayed Brendan Shanahan in my all-time favorite NHL Awards skits (topping the Canada/USA feuds between Bobby Ryan and Ryan Getzlaf). Watch all the sketches from throughut the evening in 2012 here.

Fake Shanahan doled out justice for such infractions as Dustin Brown drinking out of the wrong end of a water bottle.

Part Two addressed punishment for Alexander Ovechkin parking his car like an asshole outside the Verizon Center. "To say I lost my shit would be an understatement. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Some people say this is out of my jurisdiction but those people have been suspended."

Part's Three and Four get more ridiculous, but still funny:

And so on and so forth. I just wanted to remind everyone this video exists and was pretty funny, despite people complaining it wasn't very clever at the time.
