Angelique Kerber defeated Maria Sharapova in three sets to advance to the quarterfinals of Wimbledon on Tuesday. The three set match was full of dramatic, drawn out rallies in which Kerber covered the court with impressive work while Sharapova seemed to dictate play but commit too many unforced errors. Kerber won the match 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 to reach her third career majors QF. Her best appearance was in 2012 when she went to the semifinal at Wimbledon.
