After winning the Western Conference Final in Game Seven overtime, the Kings were awarded the western conference torphy, the Clarence Campbell Bowl. Superstition forbids players who believe in such superstitions from touching the conference trophy because it is not the trophy they want (aka it's not the Stanley Cup).
Accepting the trophy on behalf of his team, captain Dustin Brown opted not to touch the trophy. The New York Rangers didn't touch their conference trophy either, although the entire team came and joined the alternate captains in a photo around the trophy. Here you can just watch Dustin Brown be awkward.
Brown didn't touch the trophy in 2012 either, when the Kings were Stanley Cup champions.
